November brings Bhutan into sharp focus, with the monsoon haze lifted, golden rice terraces around Punakha and clear mornings often revealing the eastern Himalaya from Dochula. This journey connects Bhutan’s four essential destinations through a carefully paced route, travelling from the plains of Bagdogra and Phuentsholing to Thimphu, across the 3,100-metre Dochula Pass, down into the warmer Punakha Valley and onwards to Paro. Accommodation is arranged throughout, meals are included as specified, and the Sustainable Development Fee is already included in the package.

The pace is deliberately unhurried, with late enough mornings, comfortable drives and breaks for tea and photographs.
Paro also offers free time to explore the market, shops and cafés at your own pace.

Day 1 - Bagdogra to Phuentsholing

Arrival at Bagdogra and meet-and-greet by the tour representative.
Drive north-east through the Dooars, passing tea gardens, river beds and forest.
Enjoy the first views of the Bhutanese ridges closing in ahead.
Check in at Phuentsholing, the border town where the plains stop abruptly.
Evening is free for the local market or simply to rest before the climb begins.
