GANGTOK/LACHUNG–YUMTHANG/PEMAYANGTSE(PELLING)/DARJEELING LEISURE TOUR

Gangtok 03 Nights / Lachung 01 Nights / Pelling 01 Night/ Darjeeling 02 Night.

Duration: 08 DAYS/ 07 NIGHTS

Day 01: NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra – Gangtok (5500 Ft /1677 Mts, 135 Kms / 4˝ -5 Hrs).

On arrival at NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport you will be received by our office executive who will assist you to board your vehicle to Gangtok. Upon arrival proceed to the hotel for check-in; the evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Day 03: Excursion to Tshangu Lake and Baba Mandir (12400Ft / 3780 Mts / 43Kms / 3Hrs)           

After breakfast at hotel you will depart for full day sight seeing of Tshangu Lake and Baba Mandir. (Nathu La Pass to Republic of China is nearly 20 Kms and is an optional tour). Return to Gangtok in the evening, overnight stay at hotel.

Tshangu Lake: is one of the most popular destinations for tourists; it is located at 43 km from Gangtok. The lake is about 1km long, oval in shape, 15 metres deep and is considered sacred by the local people. This placid lake remains frozen during the winter months. On the way to the Lake, you will enjoy beautiful scenery and snow capped mountains. The cool water of the Lake is perfectly attuned with the scenic beauty around.  

(In case of Land slide or any other reason Tshangu Lake is closed we will provide alternate sightseeing).

Day 03: Gangtok-Lachung Sightseeing (8000 Ft / 2439 Mts / 124 Kms / 05 ˝ hours).         

Pick up at 10 am from hotel in Gangtok to proceed towards Lachung. On the way to Lachung you will enjoy magnificent location like Tashi Viewpoint, Kabi Lungstok, Naga Waterfalls, the confluence of rivers Lachen Chu and Lachung Chu at Chungthang, Twin waterfalls and Bhim Nala Waterfalls. Lunch will be served on route at Namok. You are likely to reach Lachung late in the afternoon or evening. Upon arrival proceed for check-in at hotel for overnight stay in Lachung.

Day 04: Yumthang Excursion- Gangtok (5500 Ft /1677 Mts/ 124 Kms / 05 ˝ hours)                 

After breakfast you leave for Yumthang (11800 Ft / 3598 Mts / 25 Kms / 1 ˝ hours one way). You can pay a visit to the famous hot spring on the way. Return to Lachung for lunch. After lunch visit to Lachung Monastery. You will depart for Gangtok through Singhik and Mangan. Upon arrival proceed for check-in at hotel for overnight stay in Gangtok.        

Yumthang- is a large valley surrounded by mountains where the tree line ends. In April, May and June the valley erupts in a riot of colours as rhododendrons, primulae and many other Alpine Flowers are in full bloom. In winters, Yumthang is somber with snow all around and the snow clad mountains adds to the ethereal beauty.

Day 05: Gangtok Sightseeing-Pelling (6100 Ft/ 1860 Mts/ 116 Kms/ 5 Hrs) 

After breakfast at hotel you will depart for half day city tour of Gangtok. This includes Directorate of Handicrafts and Handlooms, Research Institute of Tibetology, Dro-drul Chorten (Stupa, built by the venerable Trulshi Rimpoche, head of the Nyingma order of Tibetan Buddhism, in 1945), Flower Show, Enchey Monastery, White Hall. After sight seeing depart for Pelling. On a clear day one can see a clear view of Pandim, Kumbhakarna, Rathong, Khangchendzonga, Zopuno, Shimbho, Narsing, Sinolchu. Upon arrival, check-in at hotel. The evening is free for leisure, overnight stay at Pelling.

Pelling- located at a distance of 120 kms from Gangtok Pelling is another serene, mountain village which lies in the western districts of Sikkim. This village is situated at an altitude of approximately 2000 metres and commands a spectacular view of Mt. Kanchenjunga.

Day 06: Pelling Sightseeing-Darjeeling (7380 Ft/ 2250 Mts / 124 Kms / 125 Km/5 Hr)     

After breakfast at hotel you will be taken for full day sightseeing. This includes Rimbi Water Falls, Pemayangtse  Monastery, Rabdantse ruins, Kechopalri Monastery, Rimbi Rock Garden, Kechopalri Lake (The world Khachoedpalri means The Wishing Lake. It is one of the most sacred and holy lakes for the Buddhists) and Kanchenjunga Water Falls. You will depart for Darjeeling. Upon arrival proceed to the hotel for check-in; the evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 07: Darjeeling Sightseeing  

Early morning excursion to Tiger Hill (8364 Ft / 2550 Mts) at around 3:45 am for viewing sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (if the weather is favorable), while returning visit to Ghoom Monastery, Peace Memorial, and Batasia Loop. After breakfast at the hotel you will depart for Half day city tour of Darjeeling. This includes sight seeing at Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday), Ropeway, Tenzing and Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center (closed on Sunday), Tea Estate, Peace Pagoda. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 08:  Darjeeling-NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport (105 Kms / 3˝-4 Hrs)

After breakfast at hotel transfer to NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport for your onward journey. As you go home let the everlasting memory of the radiant Himalayas and this beautiful serene place linger in your mind and prompt you now and again to revisit this place.
